Winnie the Pooh
What's the fuss over?
In the 1920s A.A. Milne produced two storybook and two poetry books that introduced the characters of Winnie the Pooh, Christopher Robin and all the gang from 100 Acre Wood.  These simple stories and verses were an instant hit, and have been children's favorites ever since.  There were four books in all and they been translated into loads of different languages (including Latin !! - which became a bestseller list in the United States), and selling  an estimated 70 million copies to date. Disney have developed on the original Milne character, and continue to produce stories, movies etc based on Winnie.  Some people prefer one or other of the versions, but to be honest, I like both!

The Latest Movie !!!
Part of the charm of the books is the artwork, produced by the hand of E.M. Shepard, who used a simple palette of colors to bring the world of Hundred Acres Woods to life, and help the stories along.

Disney have further developed the character over the years, and he is as popular today as ever.

Pooh Bear is still incredibly popular, and appears regularly in books,
DVDs, TV series and movies.  In fact the latest 'Winnie the Pooh' movie
was a big success in the summer of 2011, and is now on DVD.  Check
out the official trailer on my youtube tab, as well as other clips.

The Classic Book
Welcome to the site
Welcome to my Winnie the Pooh website, about one of the great children's characters of all time and his friends.  I decided to do a site to Pooh Bear and the gang as I recently came across the books in a shop and it brought back a flood of memories.

I'm not an expert in any way at this stuff, so it'll be awhile before I get to do things right I suspect. I want this site to be an introduction to the world of Winnie the Pooh, maybe have a news section, and I'll put a couple of links to where you can buy stuff (i.e. Amazon or eBay) if you are interested. Hopefully there'll be enough interest to keep the site active!
